Description: Nationally recognized in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, the 187-acre, $400 million Riverwalk Arizona -- one of the largest mixed-use developments on Native American land -- involved a highly intricate transaction that included more than 40 individual land owners, as well as multiple city, state and tribal agencies. Located at Via de Ventura & Indian Bend Road, Riverwalk Arizona has significant Loop 101 freeway access and visibility in a central location.
The 64,018 SF Riverwalk/7580 was delivered with the first phase of the meandering, manmade riverwalk feature that will flow throughout the mixed-use park. When completed, Riverwalk Arizona will yield an estimated 1,500,000 SF of Class A office and retail space, and create up to 15,000 new jobs. The project is expected to stimulate other high-end mixed-use development in the area, create additional employment opportunities and significantly enhance the regions tax revenue base.
Riverwalk Arizona also is home to The Arizona Design Center, a 142,000 SF build-to-suit that houses the Southwest's leading home design showrooms, and was 70 percent leased when construction began. A 150,000 SF corporate headquarters office oriented to the riverwalk feature is now underway at the park for Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation.
The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Community, home to the Pima and Maricopa Indians, descendants of the ancient Hohokam Indians, was created in June of 1879 and consists of 53,000 acres -- with 19,000 maintained as a natural preserve. Adjacent to Riverwalk Arizona is The Pavilions, a 140-acre retail shopping center; Casino Arizona; and the Talking Stick Golf Club. The pro-business community provides competitive tax rates, tax benefits, personal services, and fast-tracked progress to encourage economic development on its vast land holdings.
