Primary Responsibilities
Harvey Alter is a key member of The Alter Group's business development and tenant relations team. In addition, he manages a number of asset management initiatives including all rent collections, the roof preventive maintenance program and coordinates walk-throughs for risk management and loss control audits, as well as environmental compliance inspections.

The Alter Group was honored as NAIOP's National Developer of the Year in 2010.
Background
Mr. Alter joined Alter Asset Management in 1991. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science degree in University Studies from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Mr. Alter is a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association, the Lombard Area Chamber of Commerce and the Illinois Medical District Security Group.
Project Experience
Mr. Alter's efforts on behalf of Alter Asset Management include management activities at Wheeling/750, a 250,000 SF office and warehouse facility, Wheeling, IL; TransporTech Center, a 264,844 SF office/industrial facility, Lincolnwood, IL; Sky Harbor/2900, an 88,500 SF office and warehouse facility, Northbrook, IL; Lake Center Corporate Park, a 53-acre business park, Mt. Prospect, IL; and Chicago IndustryTech Park, a 73-acre mixed-use development, Chicago, IL; Bethany Professional Center, a 53,000 SF medical office buidling, Chicago, IL; Lake Center Corporate Plaza, a 52 acre office and industrial park, Mt. Prospect, IL; and The Alter Group Corporate Headquarters, a 62,000 SF office building, Skokie, IL.

Board Member: Landmark Prep School

In addition to serving as a board member for The Landmark Prep School, Mr. Alter chairs the facilities committee for the 80-acre, two-campus prep school in Prides Crossing, MA. Additionally, Mr. Alter serves on the executive board, is an active participant on the committee of trustees, visits the school approximately eight times a year and has been the school’s commencement speaker. A 1982 graduate of The Landmark Prep School, Mr. Alter in 2006 was awarded the first “Living Proof” award for his fundraising efforts on the school’s behalf.
