The Alter Group’s history with the build-to-suit stretches back 30 years to a time when corporations required single-occupant, specialty facilities that could promote the values and business goals of the firm. Over the next few decades of double digit economic growth, The Alter Group traveled across the United States to create some of the most unique and celebrated facilities in Corporate America for a virtual phonebook of America's most recognized companies -- from blue chips like Prudential, AT&T and Chubb Insurance to new-economy firms like Kaplan, Google and AOL. Many of our award-winning build-to-suits were developed through The Alter Group’s groundbreaking ReadiDesign® program -- still the fastest way in the industry to develop an office build-to-suit.  It is in part because of this legacy that The Alter Group was named NAIOP's National Developer of the Year in 2010.

Through it all, The Alter Group has maintained its lauded system of close consultation with the client to define the requirement; positive collaboration with the engineers and architects to create a cost-effective solution that fulfills every objective; fast, on-the-ground response to propel the permitting and approval process; a strong oversight of construction, delivery and start-up of operations; and the financial wherewithal to deal with every step from concept through occupancy. The Alter Group remains one of the small cadre of developers that is still able to finance and deliver a project without having to rely on uncertain credit markets.
