Alter Announces Corridors North

1,500,000 SF campus in Downers Grove, IL will be largest new space in the East/West Corridor

CHICAGO (February 17, 2016) – Alter will develop Corridors North, an office campus comprising 1,500,000 SF fronting the I-88 and I-355 expressways in Downers Grove, Ill., announced Michael J. Alter, President of the Chicago-based national corporate development firm. The next-phase buildings include stellar tech space and the prototype office of the future by celebrity architect, Helmut Jahn, all with spectacular views of the 1,700-acre Morton Arboretum.

“It’s a build-to-suit experience at spec pricing,” said Richard M. Gatto, Executive Vice President, who is leading the leasing team for the new development. “This will be a genuine office neighborhood in the heart of the East/West corridor that intersects Class A office with hospitality and retail, within steps of one of the country’s great natural wildlife preserves. Because we own this entire 50-acre site outright, we are able to offer our clients large contiguous blocks of space, flexible terms and expansion options across multiple buildings.”

Corridors North will be LEED eligible with large floor plates, on-site food service, and a fitness center. Tenants will also benefit from low DuPage County taxes and a 30-minute proximity to O’Hare International Airport, Midway Airport and downtown Chicago.

Situated at the critical intersection of the East-West Tollway (I-88) and the North-South Tollway (I-355), Corridors North is part of the 108-acre Corridors – Chicago, one of the most successful suburban developments of the last 20 years.

The smart park developed by Alter is home to Corridors I and II, virtually identical five-story buildings totaling 300,000 SF; and Corridors III, which has seven stories and 217,500 SF.

Alter was honored by NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, as the 2010 National Developer of the Year. Founded by William A. Alter in 1955, Alter has developed close to 100,000,000 SF of speculative projects for its own portfolio and build-to-suit facilities for corporate users. This year, the company has 2,500,000 SF of space permitted and primed for development in national markets.
