This year, The Alter Group has 4,000,000 SF of space, worth $600 million, under development across the nation. Affiliates include Entrust Realty Advisors, which creates real time custom solutions to facilitate the disposition of national portfolio properties to well capitalized third party private and institutional investors; Alter+Care, a healthcare real estate development firm; Alter Construction Group, which provides construction services; Alter Asset Management, a property-management firm; Alter Asset Recovery, which provides expedited recovery solutions for distressed commercial real estate; and Alter 360, which provides turn-key brokerage services to entrepreneurial businesses and small property owners.

In 2010, The Alter Group was honored as NAIOP's National Developer of the Year.

Mr. Alter and his wife are north suburban residents and are the parents of three children.

Mr. Alter has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Harvard University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Chicago.

Mr. Alter is the Principal Owner of the Chicago Sky, the WNBA franchise in Chicago.

A Chicago native, Mr. Alter previously was a practicing attorney with Mayer Brown & Platt and clerk to William J. Bauer, former Chief Judge of the Seventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.

Mr. Alter established and is a Board Member of City Year Chicago, now in its twelfth year. This unique national service organization unites young people from diverse backgrounds, ages 17 to 23, for a demanding year of full-time community service and leadership development.

His primary responsibilities encompass sales, estimating and construction management.

Troubleshooters is an affiliate of The Alter Group, which was named NAIOP's 2010 National Developer of the Year.

Background

Mr. Casey brings nearly 40 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance and renovation to The Alter Group's TroubleShooters affiliate, which he established in 1979. As Chief Engineer for a high-rise maintenance firm for 11 years, Mr. Casey supervised a staff of 30.

Mr. Casey joined The Alter Group in 1977 as Vice President/Director of Operations and was responsible for supervising and training all maintenance personnel.

Donna Jarmusz serves as Senior Vice President for Business Development & Strategic Initiatives of Alter+Care, the healthcare arm of The Alter Group. Her responsibilities include developing business opportunities and operations for healthcare providers and physicians and delivering comprehensive outpatient facilities to fulfill their strategic goals.

 

As a senior healthcare administrator, Donna developed numerous healthcare projects such as ambulatory care centers, hospital-physician organizations, centers of excellence in cardiology, oncology and orthopedics, wellness centers, medical office buildings, rehabilitation centers, physician practice management services and other programs and services, utilizing her strategic planning, marketing, sales and operations.

 

Ms. Jarmusz maintains an expertise in business planning for consumer-driven healthcare. Her integrated approach to creating healthcare and wellness facilities provides heightened accessibility for physicians and consumers while enhancing financial viability.

Background
Previously the founder and president of The IBIS Group, Inc., a national facility development company specializing in turnkey medically based health and fitness centers, Ms. Jarmusz brings a 30-year track record of healthcare business development, marketing and strategic planning to Alter+Care.
Project Experience
Ms. Jarmusz has developed over 14 successful medically-based fitness centers for hospitals, colleges and universities, municipalities, parks and recreation departments and other not-for-profit organizations. She has achieved a 100% success rate in attaining projected membership and financial viability for all centers to date.

Mr. Driscoll's daily analysis of the marketplace encompasses not only real estate, but the overall market as it pertains to the healthcare profession. This includes federal and state regulations and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursements. Current trends he can illuminate include the general economic downturn as it pertains to healthcare, fluctuations in midterm interest rates and ten-year treasuries, the federal budget and its reimbursement for healthcare services, and the continuous shift of medical services to the outpatient arena, thereby reducing hospital stays and increasing demand for ambulatory care.

Previously, Mr. Driscoll directed all healthcare-related real estate activities for Rush University Medical Center, including strategic facilities planning, capital budgeting, capital development projects, property management and leasing. His most recent move in a real estate career that began in 1978 was joining The Alter Group to develop its Alter+Care affiliate in 1996.

John Driscoll's pioneering project with Alter+Care was the development of Chicago's CORE Center, a cutting-edge 60,000 SF outpatient healthcare facility dedicated to the prevention, care and research of HIV and related infectious diseases. The facility was cited by the Chicago Sun-Times as Build-to-Suit Project of the Year.

John Coletta directs planning, design and construction for The Alter Group's speculative office and industrial buildings as well as build-to-suits on behalf of corporate clients throughout the nation. His scope of work includes due diligence, entitlements, landscape and building architecture, permitting and construction.
Background

Mr. Coletta, who rejoined The Alter Group in 2005, originally began working for the firm in 1981, orchestrating a 350,000 SF four-story research-and-development building for Lucent Technologies, Inc. During his 18 years with the company, Mr. Coletta completed the design and construction of numerous flex/industrial buildings in the Chicago area, as well as speculative and build-to-suit facilities throughout the United States. Most recently, he was Vice President?-- Construction Services, with Northern Builders, Inc., where he completed 350,000 SF of office space and 5,000,000 SF of industrial space.

Mr. Coletta is a registered professional engineer with over 40 years of experience in the development and construction industry. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois.

Mr. Coletta's initial design, construction and development efforts will focus on properties The Alter Group is developing in California, Arizona and Indianapolis.
